BYFS YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Barrington Youth & Family Services offers a variety of youth outreach programs to help District 220 students develop their social and academic skills.  Student participants are referred to programs by school counselors and teachers and can take advantage of the services at no (or minimal) cost.

 

Current BYFS youth outreach programs include:

 

Peer Leadership Group
Offers leadership skills development for high-functioning elementary and middle school youth, primarily focused on the topic of bullying.

 

After-School Tutoring

Provides tutor-aided homework assistance and organized sports activity for middle school youth.

 

Fantastic Ride Mentoring Program

Pairs middle school youth with high-functioning Barrington High School mentors to promote social and self-management skills development.

 

Sports Connection Summer Soccer & Folkloric Dance

Provides formal sports instruction and social-emotional learning activities for youth during the summer months.
