FANTASTIC RIDE MENTORING PROGRAM
The BYFS Fantastic Ride Mentoring Program serves Barrington middle school students, promoting social and academic skills development through mentoring and coaching. The program pairs middle school students with high-achieving Barrington High School student mentors.

KELSEY SAFRAN
Year in School: Junior
Hobbies: Dancing, reading, cooking and friends
What I like about being a mentor: I loved how not only did the mentee benefit from the program, but it was rewarding for me as well. It was an honor to be such a positive influence in a child's life. Also, the trips we took together as a group were a lot of fun!
CHRISTINE NIKOLICH
Year in School: Senior
Hobbies: I play saxophone and piano which I really enjoy because I love music. I also help out in school plays/musicals and work on the sets. I also really enjoy making films which entertain and inspire people.
What I like about being a mentor: I really enjoyed being a leader to younger kids and being able to help them open up to their peers and even teens older than them like myself. I felt like all of the kids involved really felt a sense of being part of something when they came.
CHRISTOPHER KATRAKIS
Year in School: Junior
Hobbies: Music, drumline, piano, debate, reading, cooking and traveling.
What I like about being a mentor: I really enjoy the opportunity to make a positive difference in someone's life. Especially with kids, it's very helpful when they can have a role model to set a good example and demonstrate decent behavior. I like knowing that what I do can help improve the lives of others.
CHRISTI MAYO
Year in School: Graduated from Barrington High School in 2007. Freshman at Babson College.
Hobbies: Soccer, dance, debate and choir.
What I like about being a mentor: Being able to provide a place for the kids to have fun and feel accepted in a place where they don't have to worry about the stresses of their daily life.
